At Dublin Coffman: A defender from Dublin Coffman High School, Shields was a club teammate of MU freshman Meghann Connelly with the Ohio Premier. She was a part of five state champion teams with the club and also led them to a spot in the region finals in 1998. She is also a member of the Ohio South State ODP team. In high school, Shields was a four year letterwinner. She as a second-team all-conference selection as a junior and senior and was her league's most improved player as a junior. She was a part of the a state champion team as a junior. Her team started the 2002 season ranked no. 1 in the nation. She scored seven career goals and had 46 career assists. Personal: Carrie Mae Shields was born on October 30, 1984, in Framingham, Mass. She is the daughter of Mark and Laura Shields. She has two younger siblings, Kevin and Kellen.
