2002: Sinsky played in eight matches as a freshman. She made her collegiate debut against Rhode Island (Sept. 13) in MU's 2-0 win. She launched her first career shot against Louisville (Oct. 20), a strike that was on goal. She also had a shot on goal in the C-USA Championship match against Cincinnati (Nov. 9). In the NCAA Tournament, she scored her first career point, assisting on a Julie Thompson goal against Wisconsin (Nov. 15). At The Asheville School: Sinsky was a four-year letterwinner and was captain of her team in her final two years. She also lettered four times in basketball and once in field hockey. She was the captain of her soccer team as a junior and a senior and led her squad to the NCISAA state title as a senior. She earned spots on the all-state team as a junior and senior and left The Asheville School as the school record holder for career goals. She was named her school's best female athlete as a junior and senior, was the team MVP her final three years and was conference player of the year as a junior and a senior. In basketball, she was named all-conference as a senior and was named team MVP. She was a member of the honor council all as a junior and senior in high school and was a class officer as a senior. Personal: Courtney Ann Sinsky was born on May 10, 1984, in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Her parents are Mark and Elizabeth. She is the niece of Joanne Shiely, a former Marquette volleyball player, and is the niece of Tat Shiely, the longtime Marquette volleyball and women's basketball coach. She is the fifth in her family to attend Marquette. She has yet to decide on a major.
