2012: Picked up first career victory and shutout in the season-opening win over St. Bonaventure (8/17) ... Also tallied first career save in that match ... Prior to Marquette: Schunk was a two-sport standout for La Cueva High School, earning a myriad of honors for her performance on both the pitch and the track. In 2009, Schunk was recognized as one of the premier soccer players in New Mexico, earning nominations for both the all-state player of the year and the Wendy's High School Heisman, as well as a ESPN RISE girls soccer second team honoree. As a junior, Schunk was named to the first team all-district and all-metro teams, as well as earning a second team all-state nod and academic all-district honors in both 2009 and 2010. As a captain, she helped lead the Bears to back-to-back district championships and the New Mexico Big-School 5A runner-up in 2009. Schunk was also a member of the ODP State Pool from 2006-2009. Schunk was a member of the Rio Vista Sparks from 2000-2009. During her tenure with the program, the Sparks reached the state semifinals for three consecutive years. As a member of the track team, Schunk helped the 4x400-meter relay team win the state championship in 2007. In 2010, Shunk was named La Cueva High School Female Athlete of the Year and was inducted into the New Mexico Sports Hall of Fame as a multi-sport high school student-athlete.

Personal: Daughter of Randy and Andrea Schunk. Has one sister, Hattie. Schunk is a biomechanical engineering major.
