2002: Uyenishi showed promise early in the season. She made her collegiate debut against Ohio (Aug. 30). She played the best game of her season in her second match, launching four shots -- two of which were on goal creating serious scoring chances -- against Oakland (Sept. 1). That was the most time she would see in a match during the rest of the season. She played in 12 more contests, all off the bench, during her freshman year. At Lake Zurich: A four-year letterwinner, Uyenishi scored 42 career goals and had 24 career assists. She had a career high of 13 goals and seven assists as a freshman. A captain of her team as a junior and senior, she was an all-conference, all-area, all-sectional and all-state selection during her career. She was a first-team all-state nominee by the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times. She was also named Player-of-the-Year by the Northwest Herald and was team MVP as a senior. She was a member of the National Honor Society as was on Student Council during her high school years. Personal: Born March 16, 1984, in Boulder, Colo., Sarah Anne Uyenishi is the daughter of Steve and Betsy Uyenishi. Her father was a collegiate baseball player at Cedarville College and her older sister is a cheerleader at the University of Colorado.
