At St. Viator: Weber, a midfielder from St. Viator High School, was a three-time All-Conference selection heading into her final year. She was All-State selection as a junior. She was named team MVP last in 2001, helping guide the team to a state title. She plays on the Eclipse Select Club Team, having won many state titles with the club. She was a prolific scorer, netting 75 goals and 41 assists before her senior year. The team won the Region II championship last year and was a national finalist. She is a former member of the Illinois State ODP team and played basketball during her four years at St. Viator. She also lettered in basketball four times, serving as captain as a senior. She was an all-state selection twice and was her school's second all-time leading scorer. She was also a member of the National Honor Society. Personal: Lauren Elizabeth Weber was born on November 14, 1984, in Elk Grove, Ill. She is the daughter of Bill and Terry Shields. She has an older brother, Bill, and two younger sisters, Elise and Lindsey. Her mother was state high school hurdles champion in Kentucky. Her father played baseball and basketball for one year and golf for three at the U.S. Military Academy (Army). She is a physical therapy major. |
