2002: Welch's final season was cut short due to injury. Playing in just five contests, it was the second straight year that she played in five or fewer matches. She started all of MU's first five meetings, before being scratched from the lineup for the remainder of the season. She finished her career with five goals, 16 assists and 26 points. She finished sixth on Marquette's all-time assists list.

2001: An offensive minded defender, Welch had her season cut short due compartment syndrome which required medical attention. She earned a medical redshirt due to the injuries, which sidelined her in all but four contests. She played in MU's first two matches, but missed five matches before participating in the Golden Eagles' road trip to TCU (Sept. 28) and Houston (Sept. 30). Offensively, she recorded five shots on the year.

2000: Welch came into her own during her junior season and was a valuable presence both offensively and defensively. She started all 24 matches and was Marquette's corner kick specialist. She always seemed to be involved in Golden Eagle scoring chances, recording a team-high 13 assists. She added three goals, which was tied for sixth on the team and was third on the team in scoring with 19 points. She had five matches in which she was involved on more than one goal. Against Wis.-Milwaukee (Sept. 1), she had a goal and an assist. She assisted two Golden Eagle goals against Louisville (Sept. 15) and scored a goal and assisted on a second against Brigham Young (Sept. 22). She assisted two Rhegan Hyypio goals against Northern Illinois (Sept. 26) and recorded a pair of assists against Southern Miss (Oct. 20). A very versatile player, Welch was also very involved with the Marquette defensive efforts as she earned second-team All C-USA.

1999: Welch emerged as dangerous weapon off the bench. She proved to be a smart athlete who can play anywhere on the field, however she saw a majority of her time at left outside midfield. She played in 14 matches and scored the first points of her collegiate career on a pair of goal against Wis.-Green Bay (Sept. 12). She concluded season with seven points on two goals and three assists.

1998: In her freshman season, Welch Saw action in 12 matches at both wide midfield and outside back. She took one shot. She was honored as a member of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.

At Thomas Worthington: A four-year starter for the Cardinals, she served as captain as a senior when she led the TWHS to the OCC, District and Regional championships and to the finals of the state playoffs. She was named OCC Player of the Year, All-OCC First Team and All-Ohio Second Team as a senior. She was the Cards' leading scorer and Offensive Payer of the Year as a junior despite missing ten games due to injury. In her junior year, her team went to OCC finals. As a sophomore, she earned OCC Honorable Mention and was the winner of the team's Coach's Award as a sophomore. Her Cosa Express Club team finished as national runner-up in1998. The club team was Ohio State Cup and regional champion in that same year.

Personal: Born April 14, 1980, Welch is the daughter of Thomas and Nancy Welch. Her older brother, Jim, is the Marquette men's soccer program's all-time leader in shutouts and saves. She is an elementary education major.
