No. 12 Marquette Falls, 4-0, to No. 4 UCLA in NCAA Third Round

Los Angeles, Calif. - The No. 12 Marquette women's soccer team's magical 2005 season came to an end at the hands of No. 4 UCLA in the third round of the NCAA Tournament tonight. The Golden Eagles lost their bid to earn a spot in the 2005 NCAA College Cup, dropping a 4-0 decision to the Bruins at Drake Stadium in Los Angeles. UCLA found the back of the net just 2:32 into the match, as Kara Lang tallied her 14th goal of the season. Jill Oakes earned the assist. It was the lone score of the first half. The Bruins outshot Marquette, 5-0, on-goal through the first 45:00. The Bruins tacked on three late goals, all after the 75th minute, making the final tally, 4-0. Marquette ends its season with a 19-4-1 overall record.
