Final Stats

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's soccer team (2-2-1) surrendered its first goal in game action as Wisconsin scored three times to upend the Golden Eagles, 3-0.

Jenny Kundert got Wisconsin on the board first at the 21:57 mark. Kara Kabellis played a header off a corner kick from Bethany Heine and Kundert followed with another header past Marquette goalkeeper Katie Bissen for a 1-0 lead.

Wisconsin was able to tally two more goals while outshooting the Golden Eagles 10-4 in the second half. The Badgers stretched their lead to 2-0 at 60:04. Kabellis' initial shot off a direct kick was mishandled by Bissen, and Katy Lindemuth put home her second goal of the season inside the backpost.

Kabellis capped off her four-point night and the game's scoring with a goal at 78:32. Lindenmuth took a pass from Kundert and served the ball to Kabellis who put a side volley away from the top of the 18-yard box.

Bissen made five saves despite the three goals. She was faced with 17 shots on the night, while her offense launched eight. Senior midfielder Laura Culhane was able to take two shots, the most of any MU player.

Marquette returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at Wis.-Green Bay.
