Legault-Cordisco, Team Canada Advance to CONCACAF Semis

Legault-Cordisco scored the game winner to lift Team Canada over Mexico, 1-0

MILWAUKEE - With a 3-0 record in group play, Marquette sophomore Vanessa Legault-Cordisco and Team Canada have won Group A at the 2012 CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship in Panama City, Panama.

The Canadians posted three shutouts over Haiti (5-0), Jamaica (2-0) and Mexico (1-0) to win the group and a berth in the semifinals.

Legault-Cordisco has played in an integral role in the team's success starting in two of the three matches as a right back and scoring the game-winning goal in the 1-0 win over Mexico on Monday.

The Canadians will play the No. 2 seed from Group B (either Panama or the United States) on Friday, March 9, with the winner qualifying for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
