MILWAUKEE- The Marquette women's soccer team, hosted their annual indoor 'Tournament of Friends' competition last weekend, where current and former players challenge each other in a futsal tournament. Now, MU will begin its outdoor play on Saturday, March 22.

"This tournament is always a highlight in the spring since it takes us from playing and training indoors to getting us ready for our outdoor matches after break," said head coach, Markus Roeders.

Current Golden Eagles were divided up into Marquette Blue and Marquette Gold squads while alumni, the Marquette club soccer team and UW-Whitewater also participated with their respective squads.

Mary Luba led the tournament with eight goals for Team Blue, which helped her squad prevail against the Alumni in the final match where Blue notched the tournament victory with a score, 8-0.

"It's always a competitive event. We have such a strong 'Family' tradition and seeing our former players return, play and interact with each other and with our current squad is very special," said Roeders.

The futsal event took place in the Marquette Gym.
