MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's soccer team will continue spring competition this Sunday at 4:30 against professional women's soccer team, the Chicago RedStars down at Valley Fields.

"Playing the RedStars on Sunday is a great opportunity for our players", said head coach Markus Roeders. "We will get to measure ourselves against one of the eight pro teams in the new National Women's Soccer League. Although Chicago is just in the middle of their pre-season, we will welcome some outstanding players and a team that will be very successful this upcoming year."

The Golden Eagles will compete against a roster that includes Olympic gold-medalist Shannon Boxx, Canadian National Team players and Olympic bronze medalists Erin McLeod and Carmelina Moscato, and number one college draft pick and former UCLA standout, Zakiya Bywaters.

"For our ladies, this is a chance to get better, challenge ourselves and keep improving," said Roeders. "This game is a highlight of the spring and fans should come out to watch some entertaining soccer at Valley Fields."

The game will be played on the soccer turf instead of the regular grass field, making seating very limited. Admission is free for all fans.
