WSOC match versus Iowa cancelled

UPDATE: SUNDAY'S GAME AGAINST IOWA HAS BEEN CANCELLED

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's soccer team continues its spring season against its first fellow NCAA Division I foe, when it welcomes the University of Iowa to the seasonal dome at Valley Fields on Sunday at 11 a.m. Central time.

The Golden Eagles finished the fall campaign 13-7-1 overall and advanced to the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals for the 10th time in their 13 years with the league. 

Marquette is competing this spring without the services of midfielder Ryley Bugay, who is competing with the Philiippines Women's National Team, though it does have freshman Bonnie Lacey, who enrolled early for the spring semester.

This will be the first contest for the Hawkeyes this spring, after a 2017 ecord of 9-8-2. Iowa was the eighth seed entering the Big Ten Tournament last fall, in which it fell to Ohio State.

The Hawkeyes also had a spring early enrollee in Adrianna Naumoski.

Marquette looks ahead to matches against Northwestern on April 15 at home, and against rival Wisconsin where they will wrap up their spring in Madison on April 21.
