MU continues Spring Season against Loyola-Chicago

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women’s soccer team continues its spring campaign against Loyola-Chicago on Sunday, April 17 at 11 a.m. at Valley Fields.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a 2-1 loss to UW-Milwaukee last Sunday after the Panthers took a 2-0 lead on a penalty shot in the 52nd minute. Marquette forward Molly Pfeiffer scored the only goal in the 72nd minute, assisted by freshman Leah Celarek.

The Loyola-Chicago women’s team finished last season with a 9-7-5 overall record, drawing 0-0 with Evansville in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, losing in penalty kicks 5-3. Freshman Jenna Szczesny and sophomore Avalon Senn-Raemont led the team’s scorers on the season with five goals each.

The last matchup between the Golden Eagles and the Ramblers came in the fall of 2014 in which Marquette came away victorious 3-0.
