April 19, 2013
MILWAUKEE - Marquette women's soccer senior Ally Miller was nominated for Wisconsin College Athlete of the Year at the second annual Wisconsin Sports Awards and attended the star-studded ceremony on Thursday evening.
Wisconsin players, coaches and executives gathered at the Harley Davidson Museum to celebrate the best in Wisconsin sports at the high school, collegiate and professional level. More than 100 media members along with sports business professionals from throughout Wisconsin voted for the awards.
"'It was a fun night for Ally," head women's soccer coach Markus Roeders said. "She has had an outstanding career at Marquette and her senior campaign was tremendous. Being nominated was a great honor since every one of those athletes is superb in their sport. She was extremely proud to represent Marquette, our program and herself at this awards banquet."
Roeders attended the ceremony with Miller, along with her father. Miller ultimately saw former Wisconsin football player, Montee Ball win College Sports Athlete of the Year, but enjoyed the ceremony. Also in attendance was Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun and MU's men's basketball coach, Buzz Williams, who earned the Jack Safro Automotice Group College Coach of the Year award.
