MILWAUKEE - KICKS Against Breast Cancer Invitational Flyer
The Marquette women's soccer team will host UW-Milwaukee for its lone home match of the spring season Thursday, April 23 at Valley Fields. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m., and admission is free. Following its match with the Panthers, Marquette will close out the spring season in Chicago, Ill. with two matches at the KICKS Against Breast Cancer Women's Collegiate Soccer Invitational Sunday at Solider Field. At the KICKS Against Breast Cancer Invitational, Marquette will play DePaul at 9:45 a.m., and Wisconsin at 3:50 p.m. Tickets for this all-day event are $10 and available at Solider Field Sunday. Other teams participating include Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Illinois. The Golden Eagles played both DePaul and Wisconsin during the 2008 fall season. Marquette earned a 4-2 victory over the Blue Demons and defeated Wisconsin, 2-1. To coinside with the event and to help fight breast cancer, the Golden Eagles are raising funds to benefit the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center, a service of Howard County General Hospital. It is a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine and Children's Memorial Hospital Research Center of Chicago. Thus far, the Golden Eagles have raised over $3,000 for this worthy cause. Navy blue long-sleeve Marquette women's soccer t-shirts are available for a $20-or larger donation. For more information in donating please contact the Marquette soccer office at (414) 288-7414.
