Four WSOC Players Aim for Club Titles this Weekend

MILWAUKEE - Marquette University women's soccer players Jacie Jermier, Morgan Proffitt and Ashley Handwork will compete with the Chicago Red Stars Reserves this weekend in Edmond, Oklahoma at the 2015 Women's Premier Soccer League Final Four National Championships.

The Red Stars Reserves will face tournament-host Oklahoma City FC on Saturday, July 25 at 2:30 p.m. in the first semifinal at the University of Central Oklahoma. They would face the winner of the second semifinal between the Boston Breakers Reserves and SoCal FC in the championship on Sunday at 1:30 p.m., should they advance.

Red Stars Reserves defeated Motor City FC 2-0 in the Midwest regional final to cement their spot in the semifinals. The currently-undefeated Red Stars Reserves dominated their region all season long in the Midwest-Central division with 11 wins and one tie.

Jermier has scored three goals in five contests for the squad, while Handwork has notched five points on a pair of goals and an assist through six games. Proffitt has also scored once in six games played.

Incoming freshman forward Jamie Kutey will also compete for a championship this weekend with her KC Metro Dynamos U18 squad at the 2015 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Kutey has scored a pair of goals in three games at nationals and will face DMCV Sharks Elite at 8 a.m. on Saturday in the championship semifinals. The national championship is slated for Sunday at 10:20 a.m.
