Ally Miller Named Preseason All-America By Soccer America

Senior Ally Miller of the No. 16/14 Marquette University women’s soccer team has been named to the Soccer America Preseason All-American Team.

Miller, who was tabbed the Preseason BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year last week, was one of five defenders named to the Soccer America roster. A member of the preseason all-league squad as well, Miller and Christine Exeter of Louisville are the only two BIG EAST Conference players named to the 25-player team.

The Mequon, Wis., native has started 63 of the 66 career matches in which she has played and has helped lead Marquette to three-straight division championships and NCAA appearances. She owns three career goals and has helped anchor one of the top defensive units in the nation during her tenure.

Marquette opens the 2012 campaign on Friday, Aug. 17 when the team hosts St. Bonaventure at 7:30 p.m. CT. MU welcomes No. 4/6 Florida St. to Valley Fields at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 19.
