No. 15/16 Marquette Hosts Northwestern Sunday

Sophomore forward Darian Powell netted two goals in less than 40 seconds in the final minute of regulation against the Loyola Chicago Ramblers this past Friday, August 22nd. In her first full season of collegiate action, Powell is off to fast start for MU.
The winner of each Marquette Invitational match will be awarded three points in the tournament standings, and both teams will receive one point in ties. Once all matches have been played, a champion will be determined based on total points. If there is a tie atop the standings, the tiebreaker is head-to-head result, but if two teams have not played each other, co-champions will be crowned.

Sunday's matchup against the Wildcats of Northwestern marks the 10th meeting all time between the two programs. Marquette holds a 6-1-2 advantage.
MU was unanimously selected as the favorite to win
the 2014 BIG EAST women's soccer title in the conference's coaches poll last week. Earning all nine first-place votes, the Golden Eagles appear in strong contention to record their sixth-straight BIG EAST regular season title.
