BIG EAST Release

MILWAUKEE – Marquette University sophomore Maddy Henry was recognized by the BIG EAST Conference for the second week in a row, this time as the league’s goalkeeper of the week on Monday.

Henry, who earned honor roll mention last week, posted a 2-0 record over the weekend while making five saves and not allowing a goal against Drake and Louisville. The Omaha, Nebraska native played nearly 80 minutes in Friday’s 3-0 win over Drake and recorded four saves and her fifth career clean sheet at Louisville on Sunday afternoon.

A unanimous All-BIG EAST Freshman Team selection in 2016, Henry has now earned weekly conference honors on five occasions and has started all 26 matches in her collegiate career.

The Golden Eagles resume action on Friday, Sept. 1 at 8:15 p.m. against Central Michigan at Valley Fields. They will also face Mercer on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Marquette Invitational, in which Loyola-Chicago will also compete.
