Marquette and Milwaukee to Meet for 20th Time Wednesday

MILWAUKEE- The No. 12/12 Marquette University women's soccer team opens a two-game road trip Wednesday, Sept. 7 at No. 14/14 Milwaukee. Kick-off at Engelmann Stadium is set for 7 p.m., and will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel as the NSCAA Game of the Week. Dean Linke will handle the play-by-play duties, while Sari Rose will serve as the analyst.

Wednesday's game will mark the 20th meeting between the cross-town foes. The Golden Eagles are 6-7-6 all-time against UWM. Seven of the 19 meetings needed extra periods to decide the game, while nine games have been decided by one goal. Marquette and UWM played to a 1-1 double overtime draw in the two teams' last meeting on Sept. 8, 2010 at Valley Fields.

Marquette (5-1-0) is coming off an explosive 9-0 win over North Dakota Sunday. Maegan Kelly, who was named to TopDrawerSoccer's Team of the Week and to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Monday, matched a program record with four goals in MU's triumph. She leads the team with six goals, while 16 others have contributed at least a point to Marquette's offense. Senior goalkeeper Natalie Kulla has played 469 minutes in net, and owns two shutouts and a 0.77 goals against average.

Milwaukee enters the match with a perfect 6-0-0 record and recently won the Minnesota Gold Classic title following wins over Iowa State (2-0) and Minnesota (1-0). Sarah Hagen leads Milwaukee's attack with 16 points on seven goals and two assists. She is one of the five Panthers to find the back of the net this season.



In net, Jamie Forbes has played all 540 minutes and owns four shutouts and a 0.67 goals against average.

Following the game, Marquette will head to Bloomington, Ind., to play Indiana on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT.
