The Marquette women's soccer team returns to the friendly confines of Valley Fields Sunday to host No. 23 Minnesota at 2:15 p.m. The game is the second part of a doubleheader with the men's team who will play UC Irvine at 12:05 p.m.

In their last time out, the Golden Eagles shutout Green Bay, 3-0, Thursday evening at Valley Fields. Junior Stephanie Vasos, senior Brittany Bares and sophomore Danielle Martens each found the back of the net in the win.

The Golden Eagles offense came out in full force out shooting the Phoenix 26-1, including 11 attempts on goal. Marquette was also awarded nine corner kicks in the win.

Sophomore goalkeeper Natalie Kulla, who has played every minute of every game in net, had a relatively easy night in goal stopping one shot.

The No. 23 Gophers (4-1-1) enter the game with Marquette riding a four-game unbeaten streak. Minnesota topped Kennesaw State (1-0), tied Tennessee (0-0), defeated North Dakota State (4-0) and took a 3-2 win over UW-Milwaukee Friday.

Katie Bethke leads the Gophers with five goals. She scored two against the Panthers in Minnesota's win Friday. Cat Parkhill has played all 560 minutes in net and has allowed four goals.
