Engel Earns Multiple Weekly Accolades

MILWAUKEE - Freshman goalkeeper Amanda Engel and senior midfielder Ally Miller have each earned weekly awards after the Marquette women's soccer team went 2-0 over the weekend and earned victories over Seton Hall and Rutgers.
Engel has been named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the week for her performance in which she totaled seven saves in two games and did not allow a goal. She is 4-0 this season and has earned three shutouts in her four career starts.
Engel has also been named College Sports Madness' BIG EAST Player of the Week. College Sports Madness identifies the highest impact women's soccer players nationally and from each conference in a weekly feature.
In addition to the previous two awards, Engel is gomarquette.com's Student Athlete of the Week.
Miller has been named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll. She anchored Marquette's defense that recorded two shutouts, a 4-0 defeat of Seton Hall and 2-0 victory over Rutgers. MU's defense allowed just eight shots on goal in the two games.
The Golden Eagles return home to Valley Fields this weekend to host Louisville on Friday, Sept. 28 at 7:00 p.m. CT and Cincinnati on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1:00 p.m. CT.
