MILWAUKEE – For the seventh consecutive season, the Marquette University men’s and women’s soccer teams have been named recipients of the 2014-15 NSCAA College Team Academic Award.

The yearly award is given to teams who have posted a team grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher during a single academic calendar year. A total of 859 teams earned the award, however, only 208 schools had both their men’s and women’s program recognized.

The men just edged out the women, earning grade point averages of 3.37 and 3.29, respectively. This award is the seventh consecutive for the men under the direction of head coach Louis Bennett. As for the women, they have received the award 18 out of the last 19 seasons, all of which were under head coach Markus Roeders.

The NSCAA is the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization, with a goal of educating coaches, encouraging excellence and serving the soccer community.
