MILWAUKEE - Junior Emily Jacobson has been named the BIG EAST's Defensive Player of the Week and classmate Maegan Kelly earns a spot on the weekly honor roll after Marquette went 2-0-0 over the weekend to remain undefeated in conference play.

Jacobson helped the Golden Eagles record two shutouts, defeating Louisville, 2-0 and Cincinnati, 5-0 last weekend. MU has had five consecutive shutouts and nine this season, which is tied for first in the conference. Jacobson played a full 180 minutes between the two games and recorded three points against Louisville as she scored her first goal this season and handed out an assist.

Kelly was named to the BIG EAST honor roll after recording a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Cincinnati on Sunday. She went three-for-three in shots on goal and took six shots in the two games. In addition to the conference award, Kelly was tabbed as Topdrawersoccer.com's Midfielder of the Week. This is the first weekly award of the season for Jacobson and Kelly.

MU hit the road this weekend for the final road trip of the regular season. The Golden Eagles travel to Providence on Friday, Oct. 5 at 2:00 p.m. CT and will take on Connecticut on Sunday, Oct. 7 at noon CT.
