MILWAUKEE--Senior midfielder Mary Luba and junior goalkeeper Amanda Engel were both named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday.

Luba played a key role in both Marquette's matchups against St. John's and Xavier. The Shorewood, Wis. native, knocked in MU's lone goal in its 1-1 tie at St. John's this past Thursday and also notched an assist in the Golden Eagles' 1-0 victory over Xavier on Sunday. Since the beginning of BIG EAST play, Luba has compiled three goals and three assists, a stretch which the team has registered a 3-0-1 record.

Engel anchored a stingy Marquette defensive unit which allowed just one goal in 200 minutes of action for the week. The Centennial, Colo. native, had a .857 save percentage and collected six saves in the two matches. Engel made a crucial one-on-one save late in the match against St. John's to preserve the 1-1 draw on the road. Against Xavier, Engel notched her conference-best fifth shutout of the season.

The Golden Eagles have opened up BIG EAST Conference play with a 3-0-1 record and currently are in a four-way tie for first place with DePaul, St. John's and Georgetown. MU looks to break up the logjam atop the standings and continue its current six-match unbeaten streak, when it travels to Georgetown this Sunday. Game time is slated for Noon Central time against the Hoyas. The match will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network via Fox Sports GO.
