Legault-Cordisco Gets Called To Join Canadian National Team

MILWAUKEE - Sophomore Vanessa Legault-Cordisco of the Marquette University women's soccer team has been called to join the Canadian National Soccer Team for the 2011 Pan American Games, which runs from Oct. 18-27 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

It is the Laval, Quebec, native's second stint with the full Canada National Team as she played with Team Canada for a pair of friendlies against China in April of 2011. A member of the Under-20 Canada National Team in 2009 and 2010, Legault-Cordisco scored the game-winning goal during a Under-20 World Cup qualifying match against Guatemala on Jan. 24, 2010.

Legault-Cordsico has seen action in all 14 games for the Golden Eagles, tallying two assists and scoring her first career goal in MU's 4-0 victory against Cincinnati on Oct. 2.

Team Canada opens play against Costa Rica on Oct. 18 before games with Argentina (Oct. 20) and Brazil (Oct. 22).
