Hess and Proffitt listed in TopDrawerSoccer rankings

MILWAUKEE -- Marquette University women's soccer team members Emily Hess and Morgan Proffitt were honored in the midseason TopDrawerSoccer player rankings this week.

Hess, a freshman defender, was ranked as the No. 94 player in the Freshman Top 100 and Proffitt, a senior midfielder, was ranked as the 50th best player by TopDrawerSoccer.

Hess has previously been honored by TopDrawerSoccer, on the entity's team of the week on Aug. 30. The BIG EAST Conference Freshman of the Week on Aug. 29 has started 11 of the 13 matches in which she has appeared and has posted a goal and an assist.

Proffitt is a Senior CLASS Award candidate, a MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List member and the 2016 BIG EAST Conference Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. The Columbus, Indiana native has earned four weekly BIG EAST honors in 2016 and has recorded three goals and three assists while playing every minute of every match.

Marquette's next match is against No. 7/2 Georgetown on Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. at Valley Fields.
