Kelly, Miller Collect BIG EAST, National Honors

MILWAUKEE - Junior defender Ally Miller and sophomore forward Maegan Kelly were honored for her for their roles in the No. 7/13 Marquette University women's soccer team's two wins last week. Miller was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and Kelly was tabbed the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week announced by league officials Monday afternoon.
TopDrawerSoccer.com also named Kelly to its Team of the Week, and ranked the Golden Eagles No. 4 in its latest Tournament 64 Ranking.
Kelly earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after totaling six points on two goals and two assists to factor into four of the MU's six goals. Kelly registered an assist in a 2-1 win at St. John's, and accounted for the first two goals of the game in a 4-0 blanking of Syracuse. Kelly scored twice in a span of six minutes and served in the assist of Miller's goal six minutes after her second strike.
Miller was integral in MU's two wins as she helped limit the Red Storm and the Orange to a combined five shots on goal. In a 4-0 blanking at Syracuse, Miller help hold the Orange to just three shots on goal while getting involved in the offense with a goal and an assist.
It is Miller's second BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season as she earned the recognition on Aug. 29.
The Golden Eagles will look to win its third BIG EAST American Division Championship when they host USF on Senior Night at Valley Fields on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.
