Emily Jacobson

Oct. 22, 2013

MILWAUKEE--In addition to BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, senior defender Emily Jacobson has also been recognized as a defender on topdrawersoccer.com's Team of the Week following her key role in helping the Marquette women's soccer team remain undefeated in conference action last week.

The Golden Eagles (14-3, 7-0) recorded a pair of 1-0 shutouts on the road at Seton Hall and DePaul. Jacobson anchored MU's backline and notched several important stops to keep the ball away from the net. Jacobson has been garnering national attention for her play recently. Last week, she was named a collegesoccer360.com Primetime Performer.

This is the second consecutive week that topdrawersoccer.com has recognized an MU player. Last week senior Maegan Kelly was named to the Team of the Week after recording a goal and an assist in MU's 4-0 defeat over Georgetown.

The Golden Eagles have two regular season games remaining in BIG EAST Conference play and will play both games home at Valley Fields. MU will host Providence on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m.
