MILWAUKEE--Senior forward Alex Heffron has been named the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Junior goalkeeper Amanda Engel was also recognized by the Conference as a weekly Honor Roll selection.

Heffron recorded two goals in Marquette's 4-0 triumph at Providence this past Saturday. Heffron, who had just three career goals at Marquette entering the match, came up big against the Friars with the pair of goals and five total shot attempts. Heffron scored MU's first goal of the match at the 22:40 mark, and notched goal number two just under a minute later to give the Golden Eagles some breathing room.

Engel, making her third appearance on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, notched her seventh shutout of the season in the victory over the Friars. Engel registered five saves en route to the clean sheet.

The Golden Eagles (9-7-2, 5-2-1) conclude their regular season campaign when they travel to Butler Friday, Oct.31 for a 3 p.m. Central time tilt.
