NEW YORK – Marquette University sophomore Maddy Henry was honored as the BIG EAST Conference’s Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season, while forward Carrie Madden earned honor roll recognition for the women’s soccer team’s 2-0 win at Seton Hall on Thursday evening.

Henry made five saves in her ninth clean sheet of the year as MU secured a home match in the BIG EAST quarterfinals. The Omaha, Nebraska native also earned the league’s top goalkeeper honors on Aug. 28 and Sept. 4, and was recognized on the weekly honor roll on Aug. 21. The sophomore holds a 13-6-1 record on the season with a 0.95 goals against average and a save percentage of .833.

Madden, who leads MU with seven goals and 19 points after Sunday’s quarterfinal win over Xavier, posted the match winner at Seton Hall and nearly had another on a corner kick that counted as an SHU own goal. This is the third weekly honor of 2017 for Madden and she was the lone MU player to earn All-BIG EAST First Team recognition.

The Golden Eagles (13-6-1) head to Washington, D.C., to face Georgetown (12-3-3) in the BIG EAST semifinals at 1 p.m. Central time from Shaw Field. The winner will face either Providence or Butler at the home venue of the highest-remaining seed.
