Men’s basketball heads to Maui Jim Maui Invitational
The men’s basketball team makes its third trip to the Maui Invitational and will face VCU on Monday, Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. Central time at the Lahaina Civic Center. Should the Golden Eagles win, they would play in the tournament semifinals at 12:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday against the winner of the Wichita State/California matchup. A loss on Monday and MU would play the loser of that game at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. MU’s best result in Maui was a runner-up finish in 2007 to Duke and then-assistant coach Steve Wojciechowski.
The Golden Eagles will also stop in Los Angeles on their way to Maui for an event on Friday, Nov. 17.
Women’s basketball hosts home opener Sunday
Head coach Carolyn Kieger and the women’s basketball team host Loyola Maryland on Sunday at 3 p.m. in their home opener at the Al McGuire Center. The Golden Eagles, who are picked to win the BIG EAST Conference, dropped their regular season lid-lifter on Monday at New Mexico, 88-87. Following Sunday’s game they will head to Mexico to face Tennessee on Thanksgiving in Cancun before taking on Montana on Friday.
Four earn November Blue & Gold Status
Brad Eagan, Monique Felix, Henry Mierzwa and Caroline Fink were the November recipients of the Marquette Academic Support Staff’s Blue & Gold Status. The four consistently excelled academically, athletically and in the community.
Kelly makes Canadian WNT debut
Former Marquette women’s soccer standout Maegan Kelly made her first two appearances with the Canadian Women’s National Team in the past week, including her first career start on Sunday against the United States. Kelly was a three-time All-BIG EAST First Team honoree at Marquette and is Marquette’s all-time leader with 37 assists and ranks second in MU history with 115 career points.

Volleyball hosts BIG EAST over Thanksgiving weekend
Marquette will host the BIG EAST Conference Women’s Volleyball Championship for the fourth time next Friday and Saturday (Nov. 24-25) at the Al McGuire Center. The Golden Eagles, whose lone tournament crown came in 2013, have qualified for the event and will play in Friday’s second semifinal match at 2:30 p.m. The semifinals will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network through FOX Sports Go, while Saturday’s title match will be shown on FS2.
Men's lacrosse featured in Lacrosse Magazine
Matt Hamilton of US Lacrosse Magazine interviewed men's lacrosse head coach Joe Amplo and student-athletes Colin Riehl and Nick Grill on expectations heading into 2018 as the Golden Eagles look to defend their back-to-back BIG EAST tournament titles.
