Marquette Women's Soccer Earns National Accolades

MILWAUKEE - As the 2012 Marquette women's soccer season comes to a close, the Golden Eagles have earned national accolades. MU has multiple All-America and All-Conference honors as selected by College Sports Madness.

Senior Ally Miller was named College Sports Madness' Defensive Player of the Year for her performance this season. She has also been awarded first team All-America honors. Junior Maegan Kelly has been named to the second team All-America, also by College Sports Madness.

Miller was picked as BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, as selected by and head coach Markus Roeders was selected as BIG EAST Coach of the Year.

Miller and Kelly earned first team All-BIG EAST honors, while juniors Emily Jacobson and Katie Hishmeh were second team selections.

Marquette wrapped up a historic 2012 season in which the squad won a program-first BIG EAST Championship title and a fourth consecutive regular season American Division title. The Golden Eagles tallied 18 wins, third most in team history, and recorded a record-setting 17 shutouts this season.
