Freshman (2011-12) - Foltinger joined the team in the dual season and picked-up her first collegiate victory on Jan. 28 when she beat Green Bay's Samantha Iwen, 7-5, 6-1, at the No. 6 spot. Finished the campaign with a 4-8 singles total and was 3-1 at the No. 6 singles position. Collected a 1-4 doubles mark with Ali Dawson. Earned first letter. Prior to Marquette: Foltinger attended Aloha College in Malaga, Spain...Represented her region in the Spanish National Championship and was a three-time winner in the junior state championships (2004, 2006 and 2009)...Captured the Malaga state title in 2011, which lead to a No. 142 women's ranking in Spain...Received a No. 68 Junior National ranking in 2010 after reaching the second round of the ITF Woman's Main Draw in both singles and doubles play... In 2006, she was recognized as the top athlete of her hometown (Marbella, Spain). |
