Freshman (2002-03) -- Minkowski played in 16 singles matches during her first season, winning once. She beat Natalie Lansdale of New Mexico State in the Aggie Invitational. She went 2-2 in doubles play, winning in her only attempt in dual match play with Alexandra Stankovic. Prior to Marquette -- A four year letterwinner at St. Joseph's Academy in Kenosha, Wis., Minkowski was a multi-sport athlete in high school. In addition to her four tennis letters, she totalled 12 letters in high school. She also was a four-time letterwinner in basketball, a three-time letterwinner in soccer and a one year letterwinner in softball. She was an all-state performer in tennis in addition to all-conference and player of the year awards. In basketball, she was all-county and all-conference. She won those same accolades as a soccer player as a midfielder and goalkeeper. She led her basketball team to a regional championship in 2001 and 2002. Academically, she was active as school valedictorian. She was vice president of her class, treasurer of the student council, a member of the National Honors Society serving as secretary, treasurer of the Key Club and vice president of the French Club. She also serves as a tennis teacher at Kenosha Country Club. Personal -- Kristin Ann Minkowski was born December 30, 1983, in Racine, Wis. Her parents are Gary and Cheryl. She is a biochemistry major.
