MILWAUKEE--Fresh off of a victory over UIC Saturday morning, the Marquette women's tennis team returned to the court and blanked in state foe Green Bay, 7-0 at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

The Golden Eagles (2-0) made quick work of the Phoenix in double action, sweeping the opener as Silvia Ambrosio and Fleur Eggink came through with a swift 6-0 win on the No. 1 court as Diana Tokar and Paula Tormos Sancez won at the No. 2 position, 6-1 before newcomer Lesley Foe teamed with Isabella Franks at the No. 3 position and earned a 6-3 win.

In singles play Ambrosio took down the No. 1 slot, 6-2, 6-2 as Tokar won her match on the No. 2 court, 6-3, 6-0. Tormos Sanchez defeated her opponent on the No. 3 court, 6-0, 6-1, as Eggink closed with a 6-2, 6-1 win on the No. 4 floor. Franks and Foe also earned victories at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, to help seal the win.

The Golden Eagles will travel to in-state rival Wisconsin next Saturday, Feb. 4 to continue dual play.
