No. 50 Purdue Clips Marquette, 6-1

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - - In its first road match of the 2011 dual season, the Marquette University women's tennis team fell at No. 50 Purdue, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the Schwartz Tennis Center. Olga Fischer scored MU's lone point with her win at No. 2 singles.
The loss puts Marquette at 1-1 overall, while Purdue improves to 2-0.
Purdue swept the doubles point and got wins at No. 5, No. 6 and No. 4 singles to earn the victory.
For the second straight match, Olga Fischer fought her way to a win at No. 2 singles. After losing the first set, 6-3, Fischer rallied to win the second set, 7-5, and the tie-breaker, 12-10. The win is Fischer's third straight dating back to the fall season.
It won't get any easier for the Golden Eagles as they travel to play No. 45 Indiana Sunday at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT.
