Marquette Sweeps Milwaukee, 7-0

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women’s tennis team (3-2) continued its winning ways with a decisive 7-0 sweep over city rival Milwaukee on Sunday morning. MU quickly got the ball rolling winning the doubles point, which sophomore Ana Pimienta and freshman Erin Gebes clinched with their 8-6 victory over Dana Shannon and Kelly Fritz. The Golden Eagles dominated in singles winning at all six positions. Pimienta fell in her first set at the No. 1 spot, but rebounded with a 6-0 sweep and 10-8 decision. Diaz dropped just one set in her No.2 spot over Fritz, while Dawson won at the third position, 7-5 and 6-2. Gebes defeated Baily at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2, as Kanner pulled out a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Christina Colorossi. In the final position, freshman Laia Hernandez Soler defeated Kristin Kurer, 6-2, 6-2. MU 7, UWM 0 Doubles: Singles:
