The Marquette women's tennis team dropped a narrow 4-3 decision at in-state rival Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles (2-1) dropped the doubles point to open the match, but Paula Tormos Sanchez evened the score with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the No. 3 court. Fleur Eggink followed to give MU a lead after claiming a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles, while Courtney Hebard was able to pull through to a win on court No. 5 with a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 win. The victories were not enough to overtake the Badgers (2-1), though the match came down to the final courts.

Marquette will return home to open a seven-match homestand beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 8 hosting cross-town foe Milwaukee at 5 p.m. Central time at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
