Marquette Breezes Past Milwaukee, 6-1

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette women's tennis team got back to winning ways on Wednesday as the squad rolled past cross-town foe Milwaukee, 6-1.

After claiming the doubles point winning two of the three doubles courts, Marquette (3-1) used its momentum to roll in singles with victories on five courts. Silvia Ambrosio dominated at the top position, 6-2, 6-1 and Paula Tormos Sanchez won at the No. 2 position, 6-2, 6-0, while Diana Tokar pulled to a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Fleur Eggink blanked her Panther opponent with straight 6-0, 6-0 decisions on the No. 4 court as Courtney Hebard closed with a 6-3, 6-3 win in the No. 5 slot.

The Golden Eagles are now in a seven-game homestand and will host Western Michigan on Friday, Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. before welcoming Iowa to the Helfaer Tennis Stadium on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT.
