Women's Tennis Dominates Milwaukee, 7-0

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 win over Milwaukee Thursday evening at Helfaer Tennis Stadium. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 4-1 on the season.
The Golden Eagles won two of three doubles matches en route to the first point of the evening and never looked back. The No. 2 duo of Rocio Diaz and Ana Pimienta handled Megan Gow and Beth Ganser, 8-1, while Gillian Hush and Tina Radan fought for an 8-6 win over Maddy Soule and Christina Colarossi at No. 1.
In singles play, Marquette claimed quick wins at Nos. 6, 5 and 3 to secure its fourth win of the season. Diaz was the first Golden Eagle off the court following her shutout of Kristin Kurer, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 6. Pimienta was next with 6-0, 6-2 defeat of Chelsea Bailey at No. 3, and Radan downed Ganser, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 to clinch the team win.
The Golden Eagles continue their six-match home stand on Friday, Feb. 17 against Connecticut. Doubles play begins at 3 p.m.
