Golden Eagles Top Western Michigan, 4-3

MILWAUKEE- Behind Silvia Ambrosio's 6-3, 6-2 victory on the No. 1 line, the Marquette University women's tennis squad was able to claim a 4-3 decision over Western Michigan on Friday evening at The Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

With the triumph, the Golden Eagles (4-1) remained perfect on their home court this season, as MU has earned each of its four victories of the season at the friendly confines of Helafer.

In addition to Ambrosio's positive result at No. 1, Marquette was able to claim victories on the No. 2 and 3 lines, as junior Paula Tormos Sanchez and freshman Fleur Eggink claimed 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 and 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 tilts, respectively at the spots.

Sophomore Courtney Hebard's 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 5 sealed victory for the Blue and Gold, as Western Michigan was able to top Marquette on the No. 4 and 6 lines, in addition to earning the doubles point.

Following the victory over the Broncos, Marquette will look to continue their home court dominance as the crew welcomes Iowa to Helafer on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 5 p.m. Central time.
