KALAMAZOO, Mich.--The Marquette women's tennis team concluded a short one-match road trip on Sunday dropping a 5-2 decision at Western Michigan.

Sophomores Milica Novakovic and Lesley Foe scored the lone points for the Golden Eagles (2-4), including winning their doubles match at the No. 2 position. MU was playing with a shortened roster again and could not compete at No. 3 doubles or No. 6 singles.

After the Broncos opened with their 2-0 lead, Foe finished her No. 5 singles match with a 6-4, 6-3 win and Novakovic followed claiming a 7-5, 6-3 win at the No. 2 position. Both Natalija Popovic and Isabella Franks fought tough in their match through extra sets, but Western Michigan pulled out wins to take the match.

Marquette returns home to Helfaer Tennis Stadium and will host South Dakota State on Friday, Feb. 23 beginning at 5 p.m. CT.
