Golden Eagles Defeat Milwaukee, 6-1

The Marquette women's tennis squad (4-3) won its second straight match on Wednesday as the Golden Eagles defeated crosstown rival Milwaukee, 6-1 at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
MU got the match started with a sweep on the doubles courts and picked up a quick 1-0 advantage over the Panthers.
In singles action, Marquette won every point at the No. 1- No. 5 positions. Junior Ana Pimienta continued to play on the No. 1 court and defeated Diana Tokar, 6-3, 7-5. Sophomore Erin Gebes bested Hayley Marshall at No. 2, 6-4, 7-5, while junior Ali Dawson held on to topple Aerielle Pendleton, 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.
Also earning points was junior Vanessa Foltinger with an easy 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. 4 position and sophomore Laia Hernandex Soler with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles.
The Golden Eagles will hit the road for two matches this weekend and play at Ball State on Saturday, Feb. 22 and at IUPUI on Sunday, Feb. 23.
