"This is a big win for us to stay undefeated in the conference. We took a strong loss to Illinois yesterday and it was great to bounce back today," said head coach Jody Bronson. "We had great energy with everyone was extremely fired up and ready to play Connecticut today. Our communication in doubles was great and we came out and played really well in singles. We wanted to see different players at different positions and what they could do. I thought all of the players were confident and responded well to the pressure."

Marquette shuffled the line-up in singles play moving Fischer to No. 1, Ruiz to No. 2, Moore to No. 3 and Metzler to No. 4, while junior Elly Strother played her fourth dual match of the season at No. 6. The Golden Eagles responded with quick wins at the bottom half of the lineup. Strother had little trouble with her Connecticut counterpart Jennifer Marotta and earned a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 6. Metzler was next off the court after she took care of Mortiz, 6-2, 6-1, followed by Hush, who clinched the fourth team point of the afternoon, with win over Searle, 6-1, 6-2.
