NOTRE DAME, Ind.--The Marquette women's tennis team traveled to No. 24 Notre Dame on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Fighting Irish, 7-0. The Golden Eagles fall to 8-7 overall this season.

Senior Rocio Diaz and sophomore Erin Gebes teamed at No. 3 doubles and defeated Molly O'Koniewski and Katherine White, 8-5, which tied doubles action, but the Irish clinched the doubles point with a No. 1 victory.

Notre Dame claimed every singles point, never going into extended sets.

The Golden Eagles will return home this weekend to host BIG EAST matches at Helfaer Tennis Stadium. MU will face Xavier at Noon Central time on Saturday. Students in attendance will receive free pizza during the match. Marquette will also host Butler on Sunday, March 30 at Noon.
