Marquette Pulls Out a 4-3 Victory over FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla.--The Marquette women's tennis team concluded its Florida spring break trip on a high note as the Golden Eagles pulled out a hard-fought 4-3 victory at Florida Atlantic on Saturday afternoon.

As has been the case with recent matches, Marquette (9-5) got on the board first with a sweep of the doubles matches. Silvia Ambrosio and Erin Gebes won, 6-3 on the No. 1 court, while Diana Tokar and Paula Tormos Sanchez earned a 6-3 victory at the No. 2 position and Leoni Daems and Aleeza Kanner also earned a 6-3 win on the third court.

Ambrosio won her seventh straight singles match on the No. 1 court with a 6-3, 6-2 win, while Tormos Sanchez earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory on court four. Tokar won her match on court three as her FAU opponent retired early.

Marquette will return home next weekend for its final home matches of the season. The Golden Eagles welcome conference-foe Creighton to the Helfaer Tennis Stadium at 6 p.m. Central time on Friday, April 1.
