Marquette Bests Creighton, 6-1

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette women's tennis team made it two in-a-row on Friday evening with a 6-1 victory over BIG EAST Conference opponent, Creighton at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles once again earned the doubles point with a sweep on all three courts, which set the winning tone early in the match. Erin Gebes and Silvia Ambrosio earned their ninth victory of the dual season with a 6-2 win at the No. 1 position, while Diana Tokar and Paula Tormos Sanchez won on the No. 2 court, 6-2 and Courtney Hebard and Leoni Daems fought to a 7-5 decision at No. 3.
Tormos Sanchez gave MU its second point with a 6-0, 6-2 win on court No. 4, while Tokar played to a 6-2, 6-4 decision at No. 3 singles. Daems wrapped up the match with a come-back 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6.
Ambrosio and Gebes added to MU's point total with three-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, which were the 10th dual match singles victories for each player this season.
Marquette will play its final home match of the season on Sunday when the squad hosts Xavier at 1 p.m. Central time. The Golden Eagles will honor seniors Gebes and Kanner in a ceremony prior to the start and all students in attendance can enjoy a Broken Yolk brunch.
