Marquette Blanks Butler, 7-0

INDIANAPOLIS--After a long break between matches, the Marquette women's tennis team got back to action and back on a winning track as the squad blanked BIG EAST opponent Butler, 7-0 on Saturday in Indianapolis.
Marquette (9-5) wasted no time in claiming the doubles point, winning two of the three matches. Diana Tokar and Fleur Eggink improved to a 5-2 record together this season as they topped the Bulldogs, 6-3 at the No. 2 slot, while Courtney Hebard and Lesley Foe won at the No. 3 position, 6-1.
In singles play, Eggink finished first and gave the Golden Eagles their second point of the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win on the No. 4 court followed by Paula Tormos Sanchez earning a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 position, which was her 11th victory of the dual match season. Isabella Franks clinched the win for Marquette as she turned in a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5. Lesley Foe won her sixth match of the season with a 6-3, 6-3 decision at the No. 6 position, while Silvia Ambrosio (No. 1) and Diana Tokar (No. 2) won their matches, 7-5, 6-4 and 7-5, 6-3, respectively.
The Golden Eagles remain in Indiana and will travel to Bloomington to battle Hoosiers on Sunday at 10 a.m. Central time. MU is in the middle of a season-long nine-match road stretch.
