Women's Tennis Falls 7-0 to No. 39 DePaul

CHICAGO, Ill. - Despite a hard fought effort, the Marquette women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 39 DePaul Saturday afternoon at Lakeshore Athletic Club. With the loss the Golden Eagles fall to 15-7 overall, 5-1 and BIG EAST play.
The Golden Eagles were only able to win one doubles match leaving DePaul to take the early 1-0 lead heading into singles play. The Hush sister duo of Rachael and Gillian won their four straight match with a 8-6 victory over Kirsten Gambrell and Sandra Zmak, 8-6.
In singles, the bottom of Marquette's lineup faltered early leaving DePaul to go ahead 3-0 after senior Robin Metzler dropped to Karina Milinkovic, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 and sophomore Rachael Hush fell 6-4, 6-3 to Gia McKnight at No. 5.
DePaul's Selma Salkovic earned a 6-1, 6-2 decision over sophomore Christina Ruiz at No. 3 to clinch the win.
Sophomore Kylie Moore battled Sanda Zmak to three sets, but ulitmatley came up short, 6-7, 7-6, 1-0.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action at Lakeshore Athletic Club against No. 3 Notre Dame Sunday at 1 p.m.
